The Grandmother is a tribute to a generation of women who often grew up with very little, yet learned to make the most of everything they had.
Lunch is on the table exactly at noon. The bed is freshly made, the house is spotless, and every task is done with quiet precision. As children, we experience this as warmth, comfort, and security—as something that simply exists.
Only later do we begin to understand that behind this care often lies a life shaped by discipline, sacrifice, and strict expectations. Many grandmothers were raised in a time when order, hard work, and responsibility were not choices, but necessities. The love they shared was rarely expressed through words. Instead, it was found in a warm meal, a tidy home, and the quiet certainty that someone was always taking care of you.

Die Grossmutter ist eine Hommage an eine Generation von Frauen, die oft mit wenig aufgewachsen ist und dennoch gelernt hat, aus dem Wenigen alles zu machen.
Pünktlich um zwölf steht das Essen auf dem Tisch. Das Bett ist frisch bezogen, das Haus ordentlich und jeder Handgriff sitzt. Als Kind bedeutet diese Welt Geborgenheit, Wärme und Sicherheit – sie scheint selbstverständlich zu sein.
Erst später wird klar, dass hinter dieser Fürsorge oft ein Leben voller Disziplin, Verzicht und harter Regeln steht. Viele Grossmütter lernten schon früh, dass Ordnung, Fleiss und Pflicht keine Entscheidung, sondern eine Selbstverständlichkeit waren. Aus dieser Strenge entstand eine Form der Liebe, die sich nicht in grossen Worten zeigte, sondern in einem warmen Essen, einem sauberen Zuhause und dem stillen Versprechen, dass immer für einen gesorgt ist.
